Greek Design on the Island – Accessories
Out and about in Naoussa once more, this time looking for jewelry and accessories by greek designers. Following our enthusiasm we bump into F/A/D and BLUE DOT.
F/A/D stands for fashion, art and design, founded by lovely Xenia-Nefeli and Alexandros, a couple of young designers who decided to take things in their hands and promote their creations and those of the like minded designers. Xenia works mainly with marble creating stunning jewelry and other utility objects. Alexandros creates all sort of beautiful accessories for both women and men, using metal, resin and even concrete. Apart from their own creations in their shop you can find objects by designer based on the island, like the airy silk sarves with photographs of reflections on water in the port of Naoussa, as well as other designers from all over Greece. This little shop in the streets of Naoussa, just off the port is a showcase of contemporary greek design at its best.
Next stop, BLUE DOT, where we find ourselves surrounded by a variety of beautiful jewelry, clothes and accessories. Friendly Dimitra gives us a warm welcome and a short introduction while soon our attention gets caught by stunning jewelry which combine simplicity with forms deriving directly from the rich greek tradition, as well as by the stunning porcelain cups and accessories by greek designers.
NOTES
F/A/D can be found in a little street off the port, between cafe Karino and Amelie and BLUE DOT in the streets of Naoussa’s market.
